The opening day dust has settled, and now action is expected to start back up at some point on Thursday, Aug. 20 for Day 2 of the 2026 Little League World Series – weather permitting.

Thursday’s schedule was originally packed with four games – but as of 2 p.m. ET – Little League announced that two games are on the radar for now. The status for the other two games is up in the air. At the moment, a high-octane matchup you absolutely cannot afford to miss should kick off the International Bracket today with a fierce battle as Australia takes on Mexico (6 p.m ET).  

The United States bracket is expected to get back into action with a heavy-hitting showdown between the Great Lakes and Mountain regions (6 p.m. ET).

Little League World Series moves Aug. 20 games to Aug. 21

It’s just too wet to play in Williamsport. Little League International announced at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, that all Day 2 games had been rescheduled to Friday, Aug. 21, after steady rains soaked the grounds. Here’s a look at the full schedule for Friday (all times Eastern):

• 9 a.m. – Game 5: Australia (V) vs. Mexico (H) – Volunteer Stadium 
• 9 a.m. – Game 6: Great Lakes (V) vs. Mountain (H) – Lamade Stadium
• 12 p.m. – Game 7: Japan (V) vs. Curacao (H) – Volunteer Stadium 
• 12 p.m. – Game 8: West (V) vs. Midwest (H) – Lamade Stadium 
• 3 p.m. – Game 9: Latin America (V) vs. Panama (H) – Volunteer Stadium 
• 3 p.m. – Game 10: Northwest (V) vs. Southwest (H) – Lamade Stadium 
• 6 p.m. – Game 11: Asia-Pacific (V) vs. Europe and Africa (H) – Volunteer Stadium
• 7 p.m. – Game 12: Mid-Atlantic (V) vs. Metro (H) – Lamade Stadium

According to a release, ESPN will not broadcast Games 5 and 6. A full broadcast schedule will be released later.

Rain persists in Williamsport, leaving games’ status in question

As 5 p.m. ET nears, Accuweather radar shows rain continuing to fall over Williamsport, though wet, soggy conditions persist, leaving the night’s game in question. Little League International has not updated the status of the night’s scheduled games since 2 p.m. ET.

The 2 p.m. ET Little League weather update – here’s what’s happening with the games

Due to the impact of expected inclement weathers in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and to provide the best playing experience for all teams, Games 5 and 6 have been moved to 6 p.m. ET. 

The schedule for Games 7 and 8, as well as the other games planned to play on Friday, August 21, will be shared later this evening as the weather progresses. 

Thursday, August 20

• 6 p.m. – Game 5: Australia (V) vs. Mexico (H) – Volunteer Stadium
• 6 p.m. – Game 6: Great Lakes (V) vs. Mountain (H) – Lamade Stadium

The Little League World Series Fan Zone will be closed on Thursday, August 20, due to the inclement weather – Little League said in a statement.

The Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, came up.
