Based on the apparent size, Zimmerman estimates the ring could be valued between $1.5 million and $2 million.

The diamond also appears to have a distinctive faceting characteristic, leading Zimmerman to suggest it could be an old mine cut or another unique diamond cut.

“Old mine cut diamonds are especially prized because they are hand-cut, giving each stone its own unique personality and a softer, more romantic glow than many modern cuts,” Zimmerman added.
