Zac Brown named godfather of new Margaritaville cruise ship

Grammy-award winner Zac Brown has been named godfather of Margaritaville’s new cruise ship, scheduled to set sail in January from Miami.

The multi-platinum artist known for hits such as “Chicken Fried,” “Toes,” “Colder Weather,” “As She’s Walking Away” and “Knee Deep,” will perform onboard Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber before its inaugural sailing Jan. 9. The ship also will include a live music venue called Same Boat that Brown helped design and select the musical acts.

“It’s been so much fun working with the Margaritaville at Sea family to bring Same Boat on Beachcomber to life,” Brown said. “I’m really proud of what we’ve created together, and being named Godfather of Beachcomber is a true honor. I’m also really thankful for their support of the tour and for how this partnership has grown.

"What I love most is knowing that people are going to step on this ship with their families and friends, have an amazing time and make memories they’ll have forever. I’m just really excited to be a part of it and can’t wait for people to experience her.”

Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber’s onboard live music venue was named after Brown’s song “Same Boat.”
