The Indiana Fever had their five-game winning streak snapped by the Dallas Wings on Thursday, Aug. 20.

They will look to get back on track against the New York Liberty on Saturday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York (7 p.m., Prime Video).

Kelsey Mitchell set a record on Thursday while scoring 37 points against the Wings. The Fever guard has now scored 20 points or more in 21 consecutive games, besting a record set by A’ja Wilson across the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Mitchell set her record during a single season, averaging 27.5 points over the last 21 games.

Breanna Stewart is leading the Liberty with 20.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists a game. New York is 7-3 in its last 10 games and jockeying for playoff position. If the season ended today, the Liberty would be the No. 7 seed. 

The teams are playing for the fourth time this season. The Fever are 3-0 vs. the Liberty and won the last matchup 106-92 on Aug. 11.

With the Fever threatening, Pauline Astier stepped up to further New York’s lead. Indiana was within one, but Astier made two throws then made a driving layup that energized the crowd at Barclays Center. The Liberty are up 100-95.

Kelsey Mitchell furthers record streak of 20-point games

Kelsey Mitchell has her 22nd straight game with 20 points, furthering her record. She reached the mark at the 4:26 mark off a short jumper in the paint. The bucket cut into the Liberty’s lead 96-93.

Kelsey Mitchell nailed a three-point shot from the corner of the arch to give the Fever a boost. She is two points away from her 22nd straight 20-point game. The Liberty are up 96-91.

Leonie Fiebich gives Liberty largest lead of the game

Leonie Fiebich drained a three-point bucket for the first points of the fourth quarter. The Liberty are now up 88-78, their largest lead of the game.

Han Xu had seven points in the quarter (she also had a bucket in the first) to help the Liberty maintain their lead. New York is up 85-78.

Breanna Stewart makes impressive layup

Breanna Stewart wowed the crowd by dribbling into the paint and then Euro stepping effortlessly for a layup. The Liberty are up 73-67.

Leonie Fiebich makes back-to-back 3-point shots

Leonie Fiebich made sure the Liberty stay on top and made back-to-back three-point buckets. New York is up 64-58.

Aliyah Boston makes layup and is fouled

Aliyah Boston gave the Fever some momentum in the second half with a driving layup. She put her shoulder down and made contact with Pauline Astier, who is called for a foul. Boston missed the extra point and the score is 58-55 Liberty.

Half: Liberty 53, Fever 49

Kelsey Mitchell had an opportunity to make the last statement of the half for the Fever, but her three-point attempt bounced off the rim. The Indiana star leads the team with 14 points.

Jonquel Jones has 17 points and 7 rebounds for the Liberty.

New York heads into the halftime break up 53-49.

Breanna Stewart made a layup with the assist of Leonie Fiebich to put the Liberty back up 51-45.
