John Mayer maps Sphere shows with innovative format

John Mayer will hit the Las Vegas Sphere in the spring for shows that showcase his music in three forms.

Next year, Mayer will perform April 8, 10-11, and April 15, 17-18, with a solo set, a full-band set, and the John Mayer Trio at each concert.

The solo portion will lean on Mayer’s acoustic guitar work (with special performances on piano and electric guitar planned), while the John Mayer Trio features Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino alongside Mayer.

Tickets start at $129, with $1 from each ticket sold donated to Mayer’s Back to You Fund, which supports numerous charities including those aiding at-risk youth and the homeless.

A presale registration is available now at johnmayer.com, with the presale beginning at 1 p.m. ET Oct. 7. The general on-sale kicks off at 1 p.m. ET Oct. 9 via ticketmaster.com.

Tickets for each show will also be auctioned off through charityauctionstoday.com, with 100% of auction proceeds benefiting the Heart and Armor Foundation, a foundation for veterans’ health that Mayer founded in 2012.
