Sean "Diddy" Combs' prison sentence just got shorter.
\n\nThe rapper, 56, has a new release date of Jan. 21, 2028, according to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons' inmate records viewed by USA TODAY Tuesday, Sept. 29. He is currently incarcerated in New Jersey's FCI Fort Dix for his July 2025 conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
\n\nCombs, who denies all allegations of sexual misconduct, was ordered to 50 months behind bars in October, with his initial release set for May 8, 2028. In the time since, he has seen multiple shifts in that date, both extending and reducing his sentence.
\n\nModifications to an inmate's release date can happen for a variety of reasons, including good behavior, time served and participation in Evidence-Based Recidivism Reduction or Productive Activities.
\n\nThe first change occurred in November, shortly after Combs began serving his sentence, when his release was pushed back one month amid reports that he created and consumed alcohol in prison, which his representative denied at the time.
