The storm weakened overnight after making landfall as a Category 2 hurricane near Destin, Florida.
\n\nIsaias has weakened dramatically since making landfall last night as a Category 2 hurricane.
\n\nNow a post-tropical cyclone, Isaias has maximum sustained winds of 65 mph and was moving over southern Alabama, the National Hurricane Center said in its 1 a.m. CT (2 a.m. ET) update. It was heading north at 20 mph.
\n\nThe storm is expected to continue to produce gusty winds as it moves across Alabama and into the Tennessee Valley, the NHC said.
\n\nThere is also a risk for storm surge of 2 to 4 feet in Florida, from the Santa Rosa/Okaloosa county line to the Suwannee River, it said. Heavy rainfall was also possible as the storm continues along its inland track.
\n\nHurricane Isaias made landfall last night near Destin, Florida, the National Hurricane Center said.
\n\nIt made landfall around 8:30 p.m. local time with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph, making it a Category 2 hurricane, the NHC said.
