We've made it to the end of the first round at the 2026 US Open. Only a handful of men's and women's matches remain before we are down to our final 64 on each side.
\n\nShockingly though, we've already seen some pretty massive upsets. They say major tournaments can lead to the most stunning results, and that was certainly the case for No. 10-ranked Arthur Fils, who lost in the first round to unranked opponent in four sets. Similarly, No. 4-ranked Novak Djokovic was taken down by Mariano Navone, marking the first time in Djokovic's career that he failed to reach at least the third round at the US Open.
\n\nOn the women's side, there haven't been nearly as many upsets, but there is still time. Tuesday marks the tournament debuts for No. 5 Mirra Andreeva, No. 4 Coco Gauff and No. 2 Elena Rybakina. A loss from any of them would have jaws hitting floors to say the least, but that's why you play the matches.
