McDonald’s is adding an energy boost to its drink lineup.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 17, the fast food giant will add the Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer beverage to its menu nationwide. The drink, made with Red Bull energy drink “with blue raspberry syrup and freeze-dried dragonfruit inclusions … is a bold, fruit-forward sip that’s as vibrant as it is energizing,” McDonald’s said in a news release.

You can also substitute Red Bull Zero or get Red Bull separately in an 8.4-ounce can at participating restaurants, the company said. The Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer goes nationwide in the U.S. after McDonald’s test of the drink in select markets and in Australia.

McDonald’s is also expanding its dirty soda offerings.

You can now customize favorite to drinks – including Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero Sugar, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Fanta Orange or Hi-C – with a Vanilla Swirl and creamy cold foam topping. Check your participating McDonald’s for these drinks and others such as a Sprite Berry Blast made with blue raspberry syrup and cold foam.

“We’ve seen growing enthusiasm for our crafted sodas and refreshers as fans look for more variety and options to fit every occasion,” said Alyssa Buetikofer, chief marketing and customer experience officer for McDonald’s USA, said in a statement. “They loved the Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer when we first tested it in the U.S., so we’re excited to give fans nationwide the energy they’ve been craving with Red Bull. And we’re just getting started.”

Will McDonald’s new Happy Meal feature Hello Kitty and … Godzilla?

McDonald’s is apparently giving customers a sneak peek of its next Happy Meal promotion.

Guillaume Huin, who leads global brand strategy for McDonald’s, posted a Happy Meal teaser video and image on X. “One of the best collections of Happy Meal toys I’ve ever seen is about to drop at McDonald’s US. Hall of fame collectibles in the making,” he wrote.

Along with his message, a short video showed a Happy Meal on a boat with what looks like a Hello Kitty wearing a Godzilla emerging from the water. “Cute meets Kaiju. 08.18,” proclaimed an image in his post. The word “kaiju” references giant monsters featured in Japanese films and TV, according to the Oxford English Dictionary.

McDonald’s also posted the video and image on its official Instagram and official Happy Meal Instagram

“Needless to say how much this one means to me, as a big fan of Japanese culture and Gojira,” Huin wrote in a subsequent post on X on Aug. 10. “Gojira” is the 1954 Japanese film that spawned the 1956 Americanized adaptation, “Godzilla, King of the Monsters.”

McDonald’s had no official comment on the Happy Meal news. For now, you can still get the BT21 Happy Meals with BTS-inspired toys.
