Krispy Kreme is helping Pokémon celebrate its 30th anniversary with a new doughnut collection that features five beloved characters customers can catch and a special Poké Ball doughnut.

Customers can grab the new Pokémon Doughnut Collection at participating Krispy Kreme shops nationwide beginning Tuesday, Aug. 18, the company said in a news release.

“From Pokémon-inspired creations and playful flavors to themed cups, special packaging and fan surprises, this collection is made to be caught and shared as we celebrate 30 incredible years of Pokémon,” said Alison Holder, chief brand and product officer at Krispy Kreme, in the release.

The doughnut collection features:

• Bulbasaur Doughnut: An Original Glazed doughnut dipped in vanilla flavored icing and topped with frosting and a Bulbasaur piece.
• Charmander Doughnut: An unglazed shell doughnut with chocolate and toasted marshmallow flavored filling, dipped in orange-colored caramel icing and sparks of red and gold sugar, topped with a Charmander piece.
• Squirtle Doughnut: An Original Glazed doughnut piped with cotton candy flavored buttercreme, dipped in sanding sugar and nonpareils, and topped with a surfing Squirtle piece.
• Pikachu Doughnut: An unglazed shell filled with lemon flavored Kreme filling dipped in vanilla icing, decorated with electrifying drizzle and nonpareils, and topped with a Pikachu piece.
• Jigglypuff Doughnut: An Original Glazed doughnut piped with strawberry flavored buttercreme, sprinkled with strawberry flavored cookie, and topped with a Jigglypuff piece.
• Poké Ball Doughnut: An Original Glazed doughnut dipped in vanilla flavored icing and red sprinkles, piped with chocolate icing.

In addition to the doughnuts, fans can also get a special-edition Pokémon cup available in five exclusive Pokémon designs, filled with 10 Original Glazed Gold Dots. The Pokémon Dozen is also served in special edition packaging featuring the five iconic Pokémon the doughnuts are inspired by.

When to catch the Pokémon doughnuts

The Pokémon Doughnut Collection will be available in-shop and for pickup or delivery via Krispy Kreme’s app or website, individually and by the dozen beginning Aug. 18. Krispy Kreme said fans can also pre-order the dozen beginning Aug. 13 by visiting krispykreme.com/shop/menu.

Fans can also get the collection in a Krispy Kreme 6-pack in select retailers that feature one each of the Charmander, Pikachu, Jigglypuff and Poké Ball doughnuts and two Original Glazed Doughnuts.

Pokémon fans score a free doughnut on Aug. 22

The Pokémon anniversary celebration also features a chance for fans to score a free doughnut.

Krispy Kreme said in the news release fans who wear Pokémon attire to participating stores on Saturday, Aug. 22, can score a free Original Glazed Doughnut, limit one per guest in-shop and via the drive-thru.
