• USA TODAY Sports has released its preseason regional rankings for high school football.
• St. Frances Academy, Mount Carmel, and IMG Academy are among the top-ranked teams in their respective regions.
• The high school football season has already seen a major upset with North Gwinnett defeating preseason-ranked Grayson.

High school football has started in a few states, and, as it seemingly does every year, there have already been some shocking results among the nation’s top teams.

Wednesday night’s season-opener in Georgia saw Grayson, a team featured in the preseason Super 25 ranking and initial top 15 Southeast ranking, get blown out by North Gwinnett.

That surely won’t be the last jaw-dropping result as more teams gear up to open their seasons in the upcoming weeks.

Here’s a look at how we ranked the top teams in each region entering the 2026 season.
