Law Roach wants to set the record straight, particularly about all the AI pictures of his star client Zendaya‘s rumored wedding dress.

Zendaya’s longtime stylist and friend delivered his go-to response when comedian Ziwe Fumudoh brought up the topic of “The Odyssey” star’s wedding dress during an interview that premiered on Sunday, Aug. 16.

“You recently went on national television and said Zendaya’s real-life wedding dress was infinitely better than the fake AIs online,” Fumudoh began before asking Roach to describe the dress in three words.

“Better than AI,” Roach, 48, said.

Rumors surrounding Zendaya and Tom Holland’s nuptials began earlier this year, in March, when Roach seemingly confirmed that their wedding “had already happened,” and again in June, when Holland responded to a reporter’s question about AI-generated imagery purporting that a ceremony had in fact taken place.

The image architect addressed Zendaya’s wedding attire in a June 29 interview with “Good Morning America,” telling co-anchor Lara Spencer that AI-generated imagery he saw online did not come close: “That dress was not good enough.”

Law Roach can forgive, but he won’t forget, at least when it comes to brands who want to dress Zendaya.

Roach says that while he may have “outgrown” his “petty” tendencies when it comes to Zendaya’s red carpet looks, he’s still adamant that the “Challengers” star won’t be caught dead in Saint Laurent, Gucci, Chanel, Valentino or Dior – luxury fashion houses that refused to dress Zendaya early in her career.

“I think that there is an importance of being petty, but I’ve outgrown my pettiness,” Roach told Fumudoh. “I think that holding grudges makes you ugly, so in my quest to become more beautiful, I’ve released some of the grudges that I held. And I’m actually wearing Saint Laurent right now.”

In a May 2024 interview with “The Cutting Room Floor,” Roach revealed that the “big five” turned down the opportunity to dress Zendaya because she was “too green.” Roach added that he kept “all of the receipts” from the fashion houses that turned down his client.

“So when I said, ‘If you say no, it’ll be a no forever,’ that rang true for a long, long time,” he said at the time.

While Zendaya up until that point had worn the brands in editorials – and later in public when she had a contract with Valentino – the Emmy winner has never, and according to Roach, will never don the “big five” on a carpet.

Today, you can often spot the new face of Prada Beauty in French brands like Jacquemus, Schiaparelli, Givenchy and Louis Vuitton. She will also sport vintage finds and newer names such as Ashi Studio and Matières Fécales.
