\n\nA mass shooting in a residential area of Erie, Pennsylvania, left nine dead, including the suspected shooter, police said.
\n\nAccording to CBS affiliate Erie News Now, police were called to Perry Street around 5 p.m. on Friday after witnesses reported seeing a man firing a gun before he entered a home.
\n\nTwo women were found dead in the street, and more victims were found dead inside the home.
\n\nPolice said that the suspect was also found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
\n\nOn Saturday morning, police confirmed the death total and said that all of the deaths occurred before their arrival. They also said that no additional shots were fired after police arrived, and that during their response, sounds heard were flash-bangs associated with their tactical response.
\n\nErie Police Chief Rick Lorah said that a tragedy of this magnitude is difficult to put into words.
