New Jersey 2, Massachusetts 1 final
Mason Rincon started it and ended it. The New Jersey pitcher struck out eight in 4 1/3 innings and then he hit the walk-off home run in the bottom of the sixth to finish it. His 260-foot shot to left-center field gave the team from Bayonne a 2-1 win in the first round of the Little League World Series.
Bayonne plays East Side Little League of West Chester Pennsylvania at 7 p.m. Friday. Massachusetts moves to the elimination bracket and plays Saturday.
New Jersey walks off a 2-1 win over Massachusetts
Mason Rincon led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a home run to left-center field to deliver a 2-1 win over Massachusetts. His homer was estimated to travel 260 feet by ESPN.

New England’s Anthony Sullivan homered to lead off the top of the third inning to tie the game at 1-1. Sullivan’s shot went 255 feet according to the ESPN broadcast.

The team from New Jersey had posted a second run in the second inning, but the umpires wiped it off the board. The lead runner left second base early on Dex Zimmerman’s line drive.

The Metro team took a 1-0 lead on a wild pitch. New England pitcher Dominik Mombeleur threw two wild pitches in the first but settled down to get out of the inning.
South Korea 7, Canada 0
West Seoul scored in the second on Ji Hoo Lee’s RBI single. Ji Hwan homered in the third. Jae Hyun Maeng doubled in two runs later that inning. Seou added runs in the fourth on a fielder’s choice and a sacrifice fly. An error by shortstop Cruz Krpan produced the final run. Daniel Huang singled to lead off the sixth. Hong struck out the next three batters. South Korea plays Europe-Africa on Friday at 5 p.m. Canada drops to the elimination bracket and plays Saturday.

Ji Hwan Hong allowed a single to start the sixth and final inning, but then locked in and struck out Jacob Massel, Lucas Izen and Jean Ramos in a row. South Korea wins 7-0.
Canada has excellent defensive stand in 5th inning
After two strikeouts to start the fifth inning, Kian Sandhu hit a double for Canada to give them their first runner in scoring position. But Leo McTaggart lined out the next play and Canada failed again to notch a run.
South Korea got a run off an error by shortstop Cruz Krpan that sent Do Yoon Kim home, but otherwise Canada’s defense stepped up. Connor Ross had a great catch on his knees at second base to prevent a deep ball. He overthrew the first baseman to put a runner on first. Catcher Jason Mezzarobba expertly tossed off his mask and caught a pop fly behind the plate and then had two tags out at home to end the inning.
Canada gets first hit, South Korea furthers lead
Canada got its first hit of the game in the top of the fourth when Jason Mezzarobba smacked the ball and sent it dribbling toward third base for a single. But the next batter, Cruz Krpan got a fly out and Canada remains scoreless.
South Korea then loaded the bases. Ji Hoo Lee hit a single toward second base that sent Ju Won Kim home and put South Korea up 5-0. The next batter, Ki Hyun Jung, then popped the ball into the air for a sacrifice fly that brought home Seo Jun Park and made the score 6-0.

Boosted! Ji Hwan Hong launched a solo home run along the left field line in the bottom of the third inning to put South Korea up 2-0.
It’s the first home run of the 2026 Little League Baseball World Series.
Jae Hyun Maeng launched a double that sent two more runs home and made the score 4-0.
Ha Jun Ju hit a pop fly out and Hyun Been Han hit a line out to end the inning.
South Korea pitcher Seo Jun Park only needed to toss 10 pitches to get three Canada batters out in the top of the inning.

South Korea is on the board first! In the bottom of the second inning, Seo Jun Park hit the ball deep into centerfield to notch a double. He advanced on a ground out and then a wild pitch gave him the opportunity to scramble home for the first run of the game. South Korea is up 1-0.

However, Little League does monitor how many pitches a player can throw in a game and there are corresponding days of rest tied to how many pitches a player throws in each game. The maximum number of pitches a player can throw in a Little League World Series game is 85. However, a pitcher can go over the 85-pitch threshold to finish an at-bat that started under 85 pitches, but that batter would be the last one before the pitcher must be removed from the mound.
