Angelina Jolie sells famous Cecil B. DeMille estate for nearly $25M

Angelina Jolie's famous Hollywood mansion is officially off the market.

The historic home, which was once owned by iconic director Cecil B. DeMille, sold for $24.75 million on Thursday, Sept. 24, according to real estate records viewed by USA TODAY. Jolie, 51, purchased the property for $24.5 million in 2017, shortly after filing for divorce from ex Brad Pitt, and put it up for sale for $29.9 million in May.

Located in a gated community in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, the house sits on two acres of land and spans 11,000 square feet, complete with six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.

It was originally built in 1913, and DeMille, who bought it in 1916, later connected it with a neighboring home that previously belonged to Charlie Chaplin.

"The legendary Cecil B. DeMille estate is now discretely being offered, marking a once-in-a-generation opportunity to own a piece of Hollywood history—an iconic compound from which Hollywood's future was shaped, and where Mr. DeMille helped define the industry as the entertainment capital of the world," the original listing description read.
