“Below Deck Mediterranean” star Nathan Gallagher is facing domestic violence charges.

Gallagher was arrested Dec. 27 in Australia for allegedly assaulting a woman at an apartment complex in the Sydney area the day prior, according to a police memo obtained by Rolling Stone.

The alleged victim was not identified. Separately, court records reviewed by USA TODAY show Gallagher is named in a New South Wales Apprehended Violence Application filed on behalf of Gael Cameron, his former girlfriend and fellow cast member on the Bravo series. The former couple share son Kayden, whom they welcomed in June 2025.

An Apprehended Violence Order “aims to protect you from someone you fear may cause you harm,” according to the New South Wales local court’s official website. An individual is eligible for an AVO if they are experiencing or being threatened with physical or sexual violence, or are “being harassed, intimidated, or stalked,” among other reasons.

Rolling Stone reported Gallagher was charged with “assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally chok[ing a] person without consent, and common assault.” Neither party was seriously injured, and Gallagher was later released on conditional bail, per the outlet.

Court dates for both the domestic violence case and the Apprehended Violence Application are set for Sept. 1, online records show.

USA TODAY has reached out to Bravo and New South Wales police for comment.

Gallagher and Cameron first met during Season 9 of “Below Deck Mediterranean,” which filmed in the summer of 2023. They went on to have an on-and-off relationship, which has been documented on the series for several years.

The current season, filmed last summer, sees Gallagher return as bosun while navigating his job alongside his new role as a father after welcoming a son with Cameron.
