Carrot Top hospitalized after alleged suicide attempt: report

Carrot Top, 61, is currently recovering in the hospital after an alleged suicide attempt.

The comedian, whose real name is Scott Christopher Thompson, allegedly attempted suicide in Las Vegas on Friday, Sept. 18, and was taken to a local hospital, where he's receiving care, according to TMZ, which reported the news first.

Carrot Top's representative, Jami Schlicher, has neither confirmed nor denied the reports about her client – nor has she shared the reason for his hospitalization.

However, Schlicher did provide the following health update to TMZ and multiple outlets: "Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs. His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy."

USA TODAY has reached out to Carrot Top's representative for further comment.

Local Las Vegas outlets have reported the reason for Carrot Top's hospitalization remains undisclosed.

On Sept. 19, TMZ obtained images reportedly taken outside the comedian's home, with several police cars parked outside.
