“Christy was a multi-talented lady,” her manager, Al Hill, said in a Thursday, Aug. 13 statement to Variety. “Whether it was singing, acting, dancing, she was always creating. Always professional and dedicated to her work.”

A relative of Knowings told TMZ that the actress was hospitalized following an asthma attack on Friday, Aug. 7, and put on life support. The family member told the outlet that she died Tuesday, Aug. 11.

USA TODAY has reached out to Knowings’ management for more information.

Knowings was on the program from 1997 to 2000, according to her IMDB page. She also appeared in three episodes of “Sesame Street” between 2008 and 2011, acting alongside her twin brother, Chris Knowings.
