‘Cookie McDouble’ trend has some McDonald’s customers ‘McMad’

About a month after various content creators urged customers to dip a McDonald’s cheeseburger into carbonated beverages, a similar hack involving two more popular McDonald's menu items has emerged.

Kierra Jonae, a Texas-based content creator, ruffled more than a few feathers when she shared how she eats a McDonald's double cheeseburger in a Sept. 21 TikTok.

"What y'all know about putting that cookie on your double cheeseburger?" Jonae says in the clip, as she opens up her double cheeseburger to show viewers the chocolate chip cookie nestled between both buns. "Y'all don't know game. For real."

Jonae's "food hack" has garnered significant attention across social platforms, including a few responses from McDonald's in recent days.

"I stopped asking questions atp [at this point]," McDonald's commented under Jonae's TikTok. Another commenter wrote: "(this) got me mcmad omg."

While the initial reaction to what has been dubbed the "Cookie McDouble" was more akin to disgust and general disapproval, more and more customers have started to report that the unlikely combination wasn't so terrible, or that they were game to try it out.
