Two competitions are taking place simultaneously on Sunday, Aug. 9 as PGA Tour golfers tee it up in Greensboro, North Carolina, for the final round of the Wyndham Championship.

First, there’s the tournament at hand and its $8.5 million purse. Michael Brennan and Beau Hossler are tied for the lead heading into the final round at Sedgefield Country Club. Both are seeking their first career win on the PGA Tour.

Perhaps even more important, there’s also the battle to secure a spot in the upcoming FedEx Cup playoffs. The top 70 golfers in the FedEx Cup points standings qualify for the season-ending, three-tournament shootout.

This is the last chance for players in the field to earn FedEx Cup points, so the tension figures to be incredible as who’s in and who’s out changes with every hole.
