\n\nYemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed Tuesday to have killed or wounded more than 200 Saudi-backed fighters in a series of attacks, describing the scale of casualties inflicted as unprecedented for the group.
\n\n"The armed forces confirm the death and injury of more than 200 of the enemy's forces during the past hours," Houthi military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree said in a post on X.
\n\nSaree said Houthi forces carried out attacks against Saudi-backed forces east of al-Jawf province, north of Yemen's capital Sanaa, and in Marib province, east of the capital, claiming the operations resulted in "large numbers of dead and wounded" and the destruction of military vehicles.
\n\nHe also claimed the Houthis were continuing to pursue Saudi-backed forces in the remaining government-held districts of Taiz province, in the southwest, claiming the state troops were in "a state of great confusion" and claiming that some of the fighters had fled.
