Lowe’s is set to open new stores. See where, when

As the final three months of 2026 approach, retailers nationwide continue to expand, including Lowe’s.

The chain will open a new store next month in Walton, Kentucky, about 63 miles north of Lexington, the company said in a news release sent to USA TODAY. It’s the first new Lowe’s store in Kentucky since 2009 and the state’s 43rd location.

As of late September, Lowe’s has over 1,750 home improvement stores, 300,000 associates and the Walton location is hiring for more than 100 full and part-time positions, including cashiers and cart associates.

Lowe’s said in August that quarter three sales were $26 billion, compared to $24 billion last year. Comparable sales for the quarter went up 0.2% and there was a 15.7% increase in online sales, the company said.

The Walton store, set to open on Oct. 30, will be nearly 95,000-square-foot store and is set to have a 30,000-square-foot outdoor garden area.
