Check your freezer: some batches of Outshine Fruit Bars have been voluntarily recalled due to the possibility of contamination with glass.

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream announced a recall of multiple flavors of frozen fruit bars from select batches with best-before dates ranging from June 2027 to November 2027, according to a news release from the company.

No illnesses or injuries related to the recall have been reported. Customers who are concerned they may have sustained an injury from the popsicles should immediately contact a health care provider.

Frozen fruit bars have been recalled nationwide.

“The safety, quality, and integrity of our products remain our highest priority,” Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream stated in the news release. “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause our consumers and retail customers.”

USA TODAY has reached out to Dreyer’s for more information.

Where were the fruit bars sold?

The recalled products were distributed nationwide, according to the release.

What should you do if you purchased the recalled product?

Those who purchased the recalled products should throw them away or take them to the retailer where they were purchased, where they will receive a full refund, the news release said.

What to do if you believe you swallowed glass

The severity of the situation depends on how big the piece of glass was, according to the Poison Control Center. If the piece is smaller, you may not show any symptoms at all.

The press release does not state the size of the pieces of glass that may have possibly contaminated some fruit bars, but those who swallow larger pieces of glass may present with the following symptoms, according to poison control:

  • Chest pain
  • Abdominal pain
  • Blood in stool
  • Bloated abdomen,
  • Fever

Sharp edges of a piece of glass could also damage your throat, stomach and/or intestines. People who accidentally chew on glass may also cut their mouth.

If you believe you may have been injured due to accidentally ingesting glass, contact a medical professional immediately.
