In the wellness world of fibermaxxing and #pooptok, the rise of “poop positivity” has turned a 30-year-old research tool into a gut health tracker. Gastroenterologists rely on the Bristol Stool Chart, an illustrated reference guide that classifies human stool based on consistency and shape, to help squeamish patients, but caution that it doesn’t tell the whole story.
