ANAHEIM, Calif. — Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday” will unite the Avengers, Fantastic Four and the X-Men.

“Avengers” stars Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. appeared onstage on Friday, Aug. 14 during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

The duo introduced a trailer for the highly anticipated film at the Disney fan convention ahead of its Dec. 18 theatrical release. They were joined onstage by Hayley Atwell, who plays Peggy Carter.

“We know that there’s nothing this crowd loves more than a happy ever after,” Atwell said while referencing the final scene of “Avengers: Endgame” where Steve travels back in time to be with his beloved Peggy.

Evans told the crowd, “And Steve Rogers was so close to getting his on the end of ‘Avengers Endgame.’ We should’ve known better.”

“Yep, you should have known better indeed,” Downey replied. “Someone’s always there to stir things up Evans.”

Marvel Studios dropped the first full trailer of the new film on July 20, giving fans a close look at the highly anticipated sequel bringing together heroes from various films and TV shows.

The film will see the return of “Iron Man” actor Downey, who will not reprise his role as the beloved billionaire superhero Tony Stark, but instead become the titular villain Doctor Doom. He will face off against Chris Hemsworth’s Thor as well as many characters introduced since “Avengers: Endgame” dropped in 2019.

‘Vision Quest’ sees return of Paul Bettany and James Spader

Feige also revealed new details about the upcoming series “Vision Quest.”

Not only will Paul Bettany reprise his role as the Infinity Stone-powered synthezoid Vision, but James Spader, who voiced the titular villain in 2015’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ultron.

“What is it that makes us actually human?” Bettany revealed the new project asks. “Which brings us naturally to the person with most on beside you during an existential crisis. Ultron.”

The series follows the Emmy-winning series “WandaVision” as well as the 2024 “Agatha All Along.”
