Total eclipse craze grips Europe as millions prepare for the ‘magic’ moment

Around 450,000 tourists are expected to descend on Spain for Wednesday’s event, vying for the best views of the first total solar eclipse visible from Europe since 1999.

VALLADOLID, Spain — Jonathan Ripsom traveled nearly 20 hours from his home in Delaware to northern Spain to see a total solar eclipse whose peak will last less than two minutes.
