Travis Kelce is talking about his wedding to Taylor Swift for the first time.

“Wedding was the best night of my life,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end told reporters at training camp on Aug. 12. “I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us.”

Kelce called the July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden “a crazy night” filled with “a lot of celebration.” Then, after offering one of the first glimpses inside an event guarded by extraordinary secrecy, he turned his attention back to the season ahead: “Now it’s football, baby.”

The comments come as Swift and Kelce approach another milestone. One year ago, Swift took a seat beside Kelce for her first-ever podcast interview. By the end of the day, she had unveiled a new album and acquired a fiancé.

Swift’s record-shattering appearance (which has more than 25 million views on YouTube) on “New Heights” aired Aug. 13, 2025, though it had been recorded several days earlier. Across a sprawling two-hour conversation with Travis and Jason Kelce, the singer announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” reflected on regaining ownership of her masters. She also recounted the unlikely beginnings of her relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

Kelce’s father, Ed, later said his son proposed before calling him on Aug. 10 to share the news. The couple kept their engagement under wraps until Aug. 26, when they posted five photographs from the flower-drenched proposal alongside the now-iconic caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married. 🧨”

A year after that podcast taping, the English teacher and gym teacher are husband and wife. Yet Swifties remain in anticipation of another Instagram carousel.

Where, exactly, are the wedding photos?

Swift and Kelce married July 3 at Madison Square Garden before roughly 1,000 guests. Swift’s publicist, Tree Paine, confirmed the nuptials and revealed that the couple wore Christian Dior Haute Couture designs by Jonathan Anderson.

Dior has offered only the faintest indication of what may come next. When asked about Swift’s wedding dress, a spokesperson told The New York Times that the first photographs would be released directly through Swift’s Instagram account, adding, “they just weren’t sure when that might be.”

Anderson, meanwhile, told Women’s Wear Daily that collaborating with Swift was “a joy.” He said the process developed into a friendship, with Swift, her longtime stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer and Dior’s Paris ateliers working in close concert to bring the gown to life.

The world buzzed outside Madison Square Garden. Inside, the details belonged to the roughly 1,000 people who witnessed them. And, so far, the lucky invitees have kept those secrets intact. The extraordinary level of discretion surrounding the event was clearly no accident.

Wedding guest Jonathan Thomas, the CEO of American Century Investments, revealed in July that invitees completed multi-factor authentication and signed nondisclosure agreements before receiving individualized, watermarked digital invitations. Information was released in carefully controlled increments: first the date, then the city, then the neighborhood. Madison Square Garden itself was reportedly withheld until only hours before the ceremony.

“I won’t get into the details of the NDA,” Thomas said to “The Compound and Friends” podcast. “But it had teeth.”

Waiting for wedding photos is nothing new

If you ask San Francisco wedding photographer Zoe Larkin, she posted a blog that full wedding galleries commonly take four to 12 weeks to deliver, with six to eight weeks serving as a typical benchmark. Her own estimate is roughly three hours of post-production for every hour spent shooting, a process encompassing culling, Lightroom edits and Photoshop retouching.

“To me, having unedited files on my computer is kind of like a hot potato,” Larkin wrote. “I really want to get it out of my lap.”

Of course, Swift and Kelce aren’t exactly waiting in the same editing queue as the average newlyweds. If they wanted a handful of selects turned around for an Instagram post within a weekend, they almost certainly have the resources to make that happen. The wait, then, may be less about how quickly the photos can be ready than when the couple wants the world to see them.

The singer-songwriter will reveal the details on her own terms.

Swifties remember when they noticed a large presence of cinematic cameras at her final Eras Tour concerts in Vancouver in December 2024. The first trailer for the resulting film and docuseries did not arrive until Nov. 13, 2025, nearly a year later.

Swift was first linked to her feature-film directorial debut in 2021, and fans are still waiting for that project to materialize. The same is true of the final two (Taylor’s Version) re-recordings. In her May 31, 2025 letter announcing that she had bought back her masters, Swift explicitly referenced both “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” vault tracks and the new version of her self-titled debut.

More than a year later, neither has arrived. It remains to be seen when more wedding details will be made public.
