\n\nWalmart is celebrating National Chicken Month by launching a purse modeled after its popular rotisserie chicken. The limited-edition bag looks like dinner and comes with the same price tag as its beloved meal: $5.97.
\n\nThe Chicken Purse is Walmart's latest tribute to the loyal following behind its rotisserie chicken. The retailer says the grocery staple generated more than 15,000 social media mentions over the past year, and fall is its biggest chicken season, with roughly one in every 12 Walmart shoppers picking one up. Now, fans can take that devotion beyond the deli counter and onto their shoulder.
\n\n"With more than 15K social mentions in the last year, Walmart's rotisserie chicken has officially reached a whole new level of fan-favorite status," Kim Tunick, Walmart's group director of brand experiences and partnerships, said in a news release. "We wanted to celebrate this fandom by giving the rotisserie chicken its own moment."
