We’re just a few weeks away from fully loaded NFL Sunday schedules, but for now, Saturday’s preseason action will have to satisfy our football cravings.

Week 2 of the NFL preseason is in full swing as teams round out their preparations for the upcoming regular season. We’ve got 20 teams on the field this Saturday, giving fans a sneak peek of what’s in store for Sundays this fall.

The day kicks off at 1 p.m. ET with a nationally televised showdown as the Cleveland Browns take on the Buffalo Bills. Keep an eye on Shedeur Sanders, as he battles with Deshaun Watson for the starting quarterback role in Cleveland.

The national broadcast lineup continues as fans get a chance to see Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants before we shift gears to a clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots, two preseason contenders, in Foxborough.

NFL preseason Week 2 highlights

J.J. McCarthy ‘a little banged up’ in Vikings-Ravens matchup

The 2024 first-round pick got valuable experience playing in the Vikings’ preseason Week 2 matchup vs. the Ravens, but was “a little banged up” in the matchup.

McCarthy said he could have returned to the game, but was held out by head coach Kevin O’Connell.

Brenda Song makes broadcast debut

London Tipton and Brenda Song don’t have a lot in common – except when it comes to football.

The actress best known for her role as Tipton in the Disney Channel series, “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” now stars on Netflix’s “Running Point” as Ali Lee, the Los Angeles Waves chief of staff. Perhaps her next role will be in an NFL broadcast booth.

Song is a diehard Los Angeles Rams fan that made headlines in 2025 following an appearance on “Mythical Kitchen,” where she spoke about Rams’ defensive coordinator, Chris Shula, and the team’s inability to stop the run. The interview resulted in Song being quickly awarded the “ball-knower” badge from the internet.

It eventually led to Song being given the opportunity to showcase her knowledge and broadcasting skills during a Rams’ preseason game against the New Orleans Saints on Aug. 22.

Eagles player taken off field in ambulance vs. Patriots

Philadelphia Eagles running back Ja’Quinden Jackson was taken off the field in an ambulance after being injured on the opening kickoff of his team’s preseason Week 2 game against the New England Patriots.

Jackson was injured after making a tackle on the return man, Lan Larison. The rookie dove at Larison’s knees and flipped him over while taking a knee to the head.

Jackson remained down on the field after the play. He was tended to by medical staff while members of both teams took a knee on the field.

Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders ignite booing controversy

The Browns quarterbacks are embroiled in a quarterback battle, one that may be coming to an end sooner rather than later. Sanders told reports on Saturday that he didn’t agree with his teammate being booed, while Watson took it up a notch, calling the jeers “disrespectful.”

Kyle Allen leads Bills on TD drive in 2-minute drill

Allen completed a 37-yard pass to Ja’Mori Maclin before hitting Mecole Hardman on a screen pass for a 9-yard touchdown.

Allen ended up going 10 of 12 passing for 128 yards anda touchdown while starting in place of Josh Allen.

Falcons’ Jack Strand throws TD to RB Cash Jones

Strand and Jones, two undrafted free agents, connected to make a nice play in the Falcons vs. Colts game. Jones was wide open on the play-action pass, and Strand had no issue finding him for the score.

Browns QB Shedeur Sanders tosses TD to Luke Floriea

On a third-and-7, Sanders showed well while scanning the field to find an open receiver. The second-year quarterback demonstrated good rhythm while hanging in the pocket had plenty of time to find Floriea, who managed to get wide open in the back of the end-zone.

Browns vs. Bills game set to resume

The Browns vs. Bills preseason game will resume at 2:15 p.m. ET, the Browns announced in a social media post.

Buffalo will still have the ball after the hour-long rain delay, but whenever Cleveland gets on the field, Shedeur Sanders will get his chance to start.

Commanders WR Jaden Bradley makes incredible one-handed catch

Several receivers have made nice one-handed catches during the early stages of the preseason. The latest was Bradley, who made the catch while draped in quality coverage for a 30-yard gain.

Falcons RB Tyler Goodson notches 49-yard TD run

Goodson enjoyed a big-time moment in his game against his former team, the Colts. The 25-year-old running back found an open lane in the middle of Indianapolis’ defense and used his speed to burst through it and make his way to the end-zone for the score.

Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy hits Tai Felton for 50-yard gain

McCarthy made a nice play to step up, avoid pressure, reset his feet and heave a pass down the field to Felton. The Maryland product made a nice contested catch over a Ravens defender to complete his end of the explosive play.

Bills vs Browns, Shedeur Sanders’ start delayed by lightning

Second-year QB Shedeur Sanders will have to wait a bit longer to showcase his skill-set, as the Browns vs. Bills game has been delayed because of lightning.

The lightning delay was announced by referee Bill Vinovich less than two minutes after the start of the game. A heavy rain had been falling in the contest’s opening minutes, and a nearby lightning strike necessitated a delay.

Lions QB Josh Dobbs scampers for 50-yard TD

Dobbs committed two turnovers on his first two drives against the Commanders, but he bounced back on his third. The veteran quarterback took a read-option carry off the left side of the Lions’ offensive line and he found a lane through the defense.

Dobbs was able to show off solid speed getting into space and celebrated in a big way as he waltzed into the end-zone, untouched.

Commanders score defensive TD after strip-sacking Josh Dobbs

The Commanders got the scoring started just two plays into Saturday’s NFL action. Amik Robertson was able to sack Dobbs, causing the veteran quarterback to fumble. After a scramble for the ball, rookie edge rusher Joshua Josephs was able to pounce on the ball in the end-zone to give Washington an early lead.
