UFC Fight Night results, live updates: Anthony Hernandez, Gregory Rodrigues battle in main event in Sacramento

These middleweights have destruction in mind. Anthony Hernandez and Gregory Rodrigues headline UFC Fight Night on Saturday. The main event will very likely produce a finish as Hernandez’s persistent pace meets Rodrigues’ ridiculous power.

Hernandez returns to Sacramento, a stone’s throw from the towns he’s called home all his life. He has an unusual intensity to him as he bounces back from a loss to reigning middleweight champion Sean Strickland in the fight that earned Strickland a title shot. “Fluffy” must approach cautiously against “Robocop,” a prolific jiu-jitsu champion with God-given might in his fists.

Sign up for Paramount+ and watch UFC Fight Night for no additional fee — every UFC numbered event and UFC Fight Night is included with your subscription! Plans start as low as $8.99/month or $89.99/year!

There are two other fights fans should keep a close eye on. Ranked middleweights Reinier de Ridder and Roman Dolidze clash at light heavyweight, with the winner settling into their new home at 205 pounds. Then there’s NFL alum Anthony Wint. The former New York Jets player makes his UFC debut 11 days after scoring a vicious knockout on “Dana White’s Contender Series.”

Check out CBS Sports’ UFC Fight Night: Hernandez vs. Rodrigues preview with predictions for the main event and a complete viewers’ guide for the show. The preliminary broadcast begins at 5 p.m. ET with the main card starting at 8 p.m. — all on Paramount+.

Chris Padilla enters Submission of the Year race

Padilla is giving Paddy Pimblett a run for his money with that finish. Padilla snatched Nasrat Haqparast with an arm triangle choke in the final 15 seconds of their fight. Not content, he lifted and slammed Haqparast to the mat with the choke still locked. The referee intervened as the final bell sounded, only to find Haqparast snoozing and his legs twitching. There was initial confusion, but the referee confirmed a technical submission win at 14:59.

Haqparast is an especially unfortunate victim. This was his first fight since Quillan Salkilld knocked him out with a head kick last year. Haqparast spent an uncomfortably long time unconscious after what CBS Sports crowned the 2025 KO of the Year.
