Travis Kelce breaks silence on wedding with Taylor Swift: ‘The best night of my life’

The groom joked about the couple’s iconic venue, telling reporters the best part was that “the AC was cooking.” He also lovingly referred to Swift as “my wife.”

Travis Kelce is the latest to break his silence on America’s Royal Wedding between him and “Miss Americana” Taylor Swift.

At a news conference Wednesday at the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp practice, Kelce opened up about the family and friends who joined them last month for the wedding. The comments come more than a month after the couple wed in front of a star-studded guest list that was estimated to include 1,100 attendees.

“It was a fun offseason man,” Kelce said. “The wedding was the best night of my life, and I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us.”

Kelce’s statement follows a trickle of comments from guests, who signed non-disclosure agreements to keep the details of the night mostly under wraps.

Kelce is not the first of his family to reveal details from the inside. Sister-in-law Kylie Kelce opened up about the tears Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce’s brother, shed. She said that the show of emotion was probably “more at this wedding than I cried at my own wedding.”

Later during the news conference, Travis Kelce reflected on the significance of having his wedding at New York’s Madison Square Garden, where some of the biggest names in both sports and music have cemented their legacies.

“MSG, man,” Kelce said before calling out Swift for attending Knicks games in the NBA Finals — one of the recent iconic events held at the venue — while he was unavailable.

“I always told myself I’d go for a playoff game when the Knicks were rocking, and my wife went when I was stuck in minicamp, so I didn’t get my opportunity to go then,” Kelce said.

“It’s kind of cool to be able to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the mecca of all sports venues,” Kelce continued.

Kelce thanked the venue staff for allowing them to use the space given their request for privacy.

“It was perfect … and the AC was cooking; that was the best part,” he said.

The 36-year-old athlete is looking ahead to the upcoming NFL season.

“It was a crazy night,” Kelce said earlier during the conference. “It was full of a lot of celebration, but it’s football, baby.”
